Download Tax forms:

A tax payer or someone who intends to file taxes can direly to the government (Income Tax Department) website to download all the necessary tax applications online. You can get started downloading income tax forms, forms for filing wealth tax and sales tax:

File Income Tax Return Online:

Filing an Income Tax Return has become very easy because of the internet. The IT department or the IncomeTax Department of India has provided software that lets you do it online instead of going to the department itself. This is better because everything is stored on the computer so you do not lose any important document.

You may directly go to the India's Income Tax Department's website where you can file taxes online.

Instructions on filing online:

1.)  Choose the right type of Tax Return Form.

2.)  Download the Tax Return Software for the Tax Return Form you chose.

3.)  Fill out your Tax Return and then convert it to an XML file.

4.)  Go to the website for your Income Tax Department.

5.)  Register at the website (click here).

6.)  Once you are registered and logged in, click on your type of Tax Return Form and submit it. There should be a Submit button.

7.)  Click Browse, find the XML file and Upload it.

8.)  Once you have uploaded it, Print out the acknowledgment details that you have successfully submitted your Tax Return Form.

9.)  If there is an electronic signature, this will be the end of the process.

10.) If there is not an electronic signature, the form needs to be printed out itself, signed, scanned and re-submitted.
